Beauty Regime Edit

I’m a complete beauty junkie. After years of sampling and trialing products and writing reviews, I’m looking forward to sharing with you my go-to beauty edits. Some products have opened my eyes to new ingredients, innovative techniques and treating my skin to its every need. Now I’m in my mid 30’s and my skin is not what it used to be. It’s needs are greater and I can’t get away with quick fixes anymore. I have my firm favourites that are constants in my routine, but there are always new and exciting brands from around the world that really do improve skin tone, hydration and in turn anti ageing.

Below are my current selection of hero products that I use most days…

It’s Skin VC Cleansing Foam

£14.99 available here

This Korean-based brand’s cleanser is great for dull, tired skin. The foaming cleanser is a jelly texture but turns milky once massaged in to skin leaving it feeling clean and energised.

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres

£4.90 available here

I’ve been using The Ordinary for 9 months and am a big fan. I like the no frills approach to the brand and the use of only necessary ingredients. They have programs in place depending on what your skincare issues are so you usually need 3 to 4 products in the range but as the price points are so low, they are still very affordable. This product is a suspension of Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid which helps to provide moisture and hydration to skin which then in turn reverses signs of ageing. It also helps with any discolouration and pigmentation. It can sting a little when applied so may not be suitable for sensitive skin.

Drunk Elephant C-Firma day serum

£67 available here

As an alternative to The Ordinary, this serum provides antioxidant protection, smoothes complexion and works as an anti-ageing treatment. Its firming properties make it a great morning serum to use under moisturiser.

Shiseido Energy Day Cream SPF 20

£59 available here

I’m a fan of Japanese beauty products and love Shiseido for its lightweight textures and easy to apply formulations. This velvety moisturiser helps skin retain moisture which results in a hydrated, smooth and beaming complexion. Plus the included spf is a bonus.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Tinted Fluid SPF 50+

£12.75 available here

Although my moisturiser contains spf, I suffer from dark pigmentation on my forehead and cheeks so like to be overly protected. This super light and tinted sunscreen applies and absorbs well and make-up seems to stay on and set perfectly on top.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution

£10.80 available here

I LOVE this product and can’t recommend it enough. This gentle cleansing water contains micelle particles that draw impurities from the skin. Used by top make-up artists, this not only removes all make-up but instead of leaving skin feeling dry, it feels fresh and clean.

Zelens Z-Detox Clarifying Foaming Cleanser

£48 available here

This is a great cleanser for the evening – after a busy day, the foamy texture eliminates dirt and impurities, unclogs pores, and gets rid of dead cells and pollution. Skin feels soothed and revitalised.

MASK (twice a week)

Lumene Nordic C Glow Reveal Peeling Mask

£16.90 available here

Applied to clean skin, this mask eliminates dead skin cells, unifies skin tone as well as renewing luminosity. It gently exfoliates and brightens to make skin look revived. I leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with warm water twice a week.

The Ordinary Retinol 0.2% in squalane

£4.50 available here

This lightweight serum texture retinol targets anti-ageing and the appearance of fine lines. It glides on well and absorbs quickly and works perfectly under a heavier cream. Start with a lower concentration of retinol if you are just starting to add this to your regime to allow your skin to build tolerance

Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Face Cream Super Lotus Night Recovery

£45 available here

This cream is enriched with the antioxidant Super Lotus which works overnight to refresh skin’s elasticity and reduce signs of daily stress. The whipped moisturiser feels luxurious and hydrating and gives the skin the tlc it needs at the end of the day.

La Prairie Cellular Eye Contour Cream £123 here

It’s all in the eyes, especially when it comes to signs of ageing. I started using this cream 5 years ago and I really believe it helps with minimising fine lines. It’s expensive but worth the investment as it hydrates and firms tired skin around the eyes.
